CryptoQuant Signals Bullish Trend for Bitcoin Due to Hashrate Increase
The head of CryptoQuant, Ki Young Ju, noted that the current increase in miner activity is supported by institutional investors, which is a bullish signal for Bitcoin. The Bitcoin hashrate is once again on an upward trend, hovering around 1000 Eh/s, having increased by nearly 30% over the past month. The hashrate in the Bitcoin network had been declining since November 2025 but began to rise at the end of July. The price of Bitcoin also started to increase in mid-August after ten months of bearish trends. The increase in hashrate leads to a rise in mining costs and, consequently, the value of Bitcoin. Mining difficulty automatically increases with the rise in hashrate, which reduces the efficiency of each device and raises the cost of mining. The hashrate has grown by 280% since the fall of 2022, when it was around 260 Eh/s, while Bitcoin has appreciated by 300% from $20,000 to $81,000. Despite the transformation of data centers for AI, some companies, such as Bitdeer, have increased their hashrate by nearly 20%.
