Serenity Summarizes Executive Voices, AI Demand Remains Unscathed
On November 9, the AI sector faced a sell-off, and Serenity gathered statements from several executives of tech giants and infrastructure providers, indicating a disconnect between market sentiment and fundamentals. Lumentum's CEO stated that "demand orders are misaligned with market performance"; AMD's CEO emphasized that the industry is in the early stages of an adoption cycle, with demand exceeding supply; Arm's CEO warned that if the U.S. hesitates on data center construction, other countries are ready to step in, and China has not slowed down; Qualcomm's CEO pointed out that "the current bottleneck is limited supply, with shortages in wafers, substrates, and assembly." These remarks reflect an optimistic outlook for accelerator, networking, and semiconductor companies. In response to market concerns about political risks and construction obstacles, Serenity noted that even politicians who threaten to restrict data centers during campaigns show a cooperative attitude after winning elections. Meta executives revealed that local politicians actively seek dialogue to preserve investments and jobs, but establishing new data centers has become more challenging. Data center developers report strong pricing and demand but are also concerned about financing costs and delivery execution risks. Serenity concluded that there is a significant difference between "demand disappearing" and "demand delays due to insufficient construction speed," and currently, there is no evidence to suggest that AI demand has been significantly harmed.
